Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, South Africa eastward to the Line, Marquesan, and Pitcairn Islands, southern Japan, Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand
Size: Up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoon patch and seaward reefs
General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Feeds on plankton and benthic invertebrate at night. Will accept a wide variety of meaty foodstuffs and should have vitamin enriched foods with at least two feeding per day. Their diet should contain a color enhancer, such as Spirulina. Prefers a dimly lit environment with caves. Not often seen in the trade.
