Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Marquesan and Hawaiian Islands, and also the tropical Western Atlantic Ocean

Size: Up to 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit outer reef slopes and found in caves and crevices

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 83°F (22 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of small crustaceans and fishes. Easily maintained, yet rarely collected. Will accept a wide variety of meaty foodstuffs and should have vitamin enriched foods with at least two feeding per day. Their diet should contain a color enhancer, such as Spirulina. Prefers a dimly lit environment with caves. Will be a threat to small fishes and shrimp.
