Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Great Barrier Reef, Philippines, New Guinea, and eastward to the Tuamotu Islands and west to Africa
Size: up to 5 inches (12 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit lagoon reefs, reef faces, and slopes at depths between 10 - 400 feet (3 - 120 m)
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 74 - 82°F (23 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mostly of vegetable matter. Could be kept in a reef aquarium with soft corals. Requires a varied diet containing both vegetable and meaty foodstuffs with numerous feeding per day. Provide open caves and crevices to hide in when wanting undisturbed rest.
