Species Name: Chaetodon assarius Waite, 1905
Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Western Australia with some found in Indonesia
Size: up to 5 inches (12 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky coral reefs and sandy weedy flats in depths between 3 to 100 feet ( 1 - 30 m)
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 66 - 78°F (19 - 26°C) and natural diet consists mainly of algae and zooplankton. Requires a variety of enriched frozen foods (meaty and algae) which can be supplemented with flake foods with numerous feedings per day. Provide a rocky environment with numerous open caves and coral rubble. Considered a good choice for aquariums, yet rarely seen in the trade.
