Species Name: Chaetodon adiergastos Seale, 1910


Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Australia


Size: up to 6 inches (15 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit reef faces and fore-reef slopes and may occur in pairs near soft corals at depths between 10 - 75 feet (3 - 25 m)


General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 74 - 82°F (23 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of coral polyps and benthic invertebrates. Requires an enriched meaty diet and numerous feedings per day. Questionable survival rate in captivity, yet some people report good success with it. Shown here for identification purpose only.
