Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Papua, north to southern Japan, south to New Caledonia; Palau and Yap in Micronesian
Size: up to 4.5 inches (11 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy areas among clumps of Sargassum/seaweeds
General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature range of 77 - 83°F (25 - 28°C). An algae, kelp, and crustacean feeder and requires a varied diet. Will nip the hand that feeds it and has venom in its lower jaw glands! Not often seen in the trade.
