Species Name: Cirripectes chelomatus Williams & Maugé, 1984


Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Eastern Australia northward to Papua New Guinea, south to Lord Howe Island, and Fiji and Tonga Islands


Size: up to 5 inches (12 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow rocky and coral reefs


General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature range of 75 - 79°F (24 - 26°C). Require a diet high in vegetable matter. May consume cyanobacteria/slime algae, and filamentous algae. May nip coral polyps and clam mantles. Not often seen in the trade.
