Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to Papua New Guinea, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to Australia
Size: up to 28 inches (70 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit shallow protected inner reefs as juveniles and as adults, seaward reefs
General Husbandry: Have a temperature range of 72 - 80° F (22 - 27°C) and natural diet consists of plankton, algae, small fishes, jelly fish, worms, and other small invertebrate. Feed a meaty diet, e.g., enriched brine shrimp, mysis, chopped fish and shrimp flesh, two or three times daily. Slow moving with large fin areas, therefore do not include with fin nippers. Fairly hardy, and fond of earthworms.
