Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Indonesia and New Britain


Size: up to 2 inches (5 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit deep recesses on seaward reefs, usually greater than 150 feet (50 m)


General Husbandry: Husbandry: Prefer a temperature range of 72 – 79ºF (22 – 26ºC). Infrequently seen on the market. Natural diet consists mainly of zooplankton, however, will feed upon small crustaceans. Feed enriched meaty/freeze-dried foodstuffs daily. Should have numerous caves and hiding places and prefers a dimly lit environment. May eat your small ornamental shrimp and usually a secretive fish that may be difficult to see in an aquarium with lots of hiding places. If bullied by larger more bold fish, you may never see this fish again. Usually high priced.
