Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Andaman Sea to Fiji, north to the Philippines and south to Great Barrier Reef
Size: up to 4 inches (10 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit coral heads in open sandy areas and along outer slopes and drop-off areas
General Husbandry: Prefer a water temperature of 72 - 80°F (22 - 27°C). A hardy species that does well in reef aquariums. Require exceptional water quality, good water movement and numerous feedings per day. Diet consists mainly of meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh. One of the more aggressive Anthias, therefore, keep in groups of one male and several females, or only one male or one female.
