Species Name: Pseudanthias pascalus (Jordan & Tanaka, 1927)
Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Indonesia, and Taiwan north to Japan and south to Great Barrier Reef
Size: up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit reef faces and slopes/drop-off areas.
General Husbandry: Prefer a water temperature of 72 - 80°F (22 - 27°C). Difficult to maintain. Best kept in small groups consisting of one male and four or more females. Require exceptional water quality, good water movement and numerous feedings per day. Diet consists mainly of meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh.
