Species Name: Pseudanthias hypselosoma Bleeker, 1878


Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Maldives to Samoa, north to Taiwan and the Ryukyu Island and south to the Great Barrier Reef


Size: up to 7 inches (17 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit well-protected reef faces, lagoons and bays


General Husbandry: Prefer a water temperature of 72 - 80°F (22 - 27°C). A hardy species, yet does require good water quality and movement, and hiding places. Should be fed twice per day. Diet consists mainly of meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh.
