Species Name: Plectranthias fourmanoiri Randall, 1980


Range: Pacific Ocean: Christmas Island (Indian Ocean), Marshal, Tuamotu, Samoa, Pitcairn and Cook Islands


Size: up to 1.5 inches (3.5 cm)


Natural Environment: Inhabit fairly shallow coral reefs and lagoons


General Husbandry: Prefer a water temperature of 72 - 78°F (22 - 26°C). Rarely seen in the trade, and I have yet to see one in captivity. Diet consists mainly of meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh. Not much else is known about the species.
