Range: North Carolina to northern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil

Size: up to 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit steep outer reef slopes and rocky outcroppings and feeds on zooplankton, especially copepods near the sea floor

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 - 80°F (22 - 27°C). Not normally found in the aquarium trade. However, if available, diet consists mainly of meaty foodstuffs, e.g., mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and enriched fresh fish and shrimp flesh. Safe with invertebrate and needs at least two feeding of meaty foodstuffs per day and a large dimly lit reef type aquarium with hiding places.
