Range: Hawaii
Size: up to 7 inches (17 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit rocky ledges and caves and is a deeper water species, 40 to 150 feet (12 - 45 m)
General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature of 70 - 76°F (21 - 24°C) and natural diet consists mainly of sponges and tunicates making them difficult to maintain in captivity. Rarely collected, yet extremely easy to capture, but probably better left in the wild. This is a fish that should not be purchased unless it is seen to be eating before purchase! Will often become shy in the aquarium and needs lots of rocky hiding places. Often referred to as "Apolemichthys arcuatus."
