Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Philippines, Melanesia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, and Japan
Size: up to 3 inches (8 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit coral growths and outer reef slopes at depths from 10 to 100 feet (3 - 30 m)
General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature of 77 - 82°F (25 - 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of algae. In fact, they need large amounts of plant matter in their diet, yet accepts a wide variety of foods in the aquarium including fortified brine shrimp, mysis, and flake food (especially Spirulina). Needs numerous feeding per day.
