Species Name: Amphiprion percula Lacépède, 1802
Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Northern Queensland and Melanesia (New Guinea, New Britain, New Ireland, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu)
Size: Up to 3 inches (7 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit inshore and outer reef areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 77 - 82°F (25 - 27ºC), and accepts a wide variety of foodstuffs, e.g. mysis shrimp, fortified brine shrimp, various meaty diced fish and shrimp flesh, and Spirulina flake. Should be fed a few times per day. Host anemones in the aquarium appear to be: Heteractis crispa, H. magnifica, and Stichodactyla gigantea. Captive bred specimens available. Poor swimmers, and may not venture far in the aquarium once they find a place of their liking. Two juveniles will usually mature into a mated pair. If no anemone, may pester large-polyped stony corals, irritating the coral. Adult female is larger than the male. Often confused with A. ocellaris.
