Species Name: Amphiprion ocellaris Cuvier, 1830
Range: Widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific.
Size: Up to 3.5 inches (8.8 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit inshore and outer reef areas
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 77 - 82°F (25 - 27ºC), and accepts a wide variety of foodstuffs, e.g. mysis shrimp, fortified brine shrimp, various meaty diced fish and shrimp flesh, and Spirulina flake. Should be fed a few times per day. Host anemones in the aquarium appear to be: Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla gigantea, and S. mertensii. Captive-bred specimens available, and should be the only choice, as wild caught specimens are not hardy. Does not bother other clowns in the same aquarium. Adult female is larger than the male. My wife's favorite! Easily mistaken for A. percula.
