Common Name: Skunk or Skunk-striped Anemonefish
Species Name: Amphiprion akallopisos (Bleeker, 1853)
Range: Widespread throughout the Indian Ocean
Size: Up to 4 inches (10 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabit outer reef areas at 10 to 50 foot (3 - 15 m) depths
General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 77 - 82°F (25 - 27ºC), and accepts a wide variety of foodstuffs with Spirulina an important supplement in the regular diet. Hardy, but should not be added to an aquarium already containing territorial fishes as they never seem to settle down and be comfortable with their surroundings. Usually difficult and unreliable spawners. Captive-bred specimens available. Their host anemones in the aquarium appear to be either Heteractis magnifica or Stichodactyla mertensii.
