Bannerfish

These fishes belong in the "Order Perciformes" and "Suborder Percoidei" as members of the "Family Chaetodontidae"(Butterflyfishes) which consists of 10 genera with about 115 species. One of the more popular genus, Heniochus, are commonly referred to as 'Bannerfishes.' These 'butterflyfishes' are generally good aquarium specimens and do well under a range of aquarium conditions. They are mostly peaceful and accept a wide variety of foodstuffs, yet they can become somewhat territorial in small aquariums. Introduce all at one time. The common German name for these fish is "Wimplefish' which is a type of hat with feathers.
