Over the last several years I've spoken and listened to countless aquarists regarding what they would like to see changed in the way aquarium chemicals are sold. First, they would like to get better information with regard to they are adding to the systems they've worked so hard to establish. We address this problem by labeling all our products with the names and concentrations of ingredients. In the very few instances where we feel our formulas are proprietary we will still list ionic concentrations. Unlike many of our competitors we also list lot numbers on all of our products along with date tested and filled. All testing is done in our own quality control laboratory.

We believe the aquarist is entitled to know when a product was packaged. Since different aquarists use chemicals in different ways (e.g. varying rates and durations of container opening and closing), it would be impossible to set one expiration date for each lot. However, we supply simple instructions for testing the viability of chemicals with limited shelf life (e.g. Calcium Hydroxide).

Finally, we address the problem of very high prices simply by offering you the most competitive prices available through our bulk purchases. Granular Activated Carbon

Our Granular Activated Carbon based on bituminous coal provides the best combination of pore size, large particle size, high surface area, low ash, and hardness for chemically filtering aquarium water. In addition, test results indicate no leaching of phosphates. The high hardness level of this carbon prevents the dispersion of particles throughout the aquarium which can occur with softer grades of carbon. The large particle size facilitates water movement through the carbon and helps prevent the removal of planktonic food organisms via mechanical filtration.
