I met the owner of AquaC, Jason Kim, in his product booth at a past MACNA event about four or five years ago. I was intrigued with his new and unique spray nozzle technology (U.S. Patent #6,156,209). Testing of what is now referred to as the 'first generation' EV models (there were three models EV-90; EV-150; and, EV 200) proved the new technology was extremely efficient and overall design was more than capable of performing as advertised. In fact, nozzle design is not only highly efficient with the production of very fine bubbles, its almost impossible to clog with small snail shells as is the case in many other brand skimmers that use different type injectors!
About a year later the spray nozzle technology was incorporated into a hang-on-the-side skimmer called the Remora. I tested the larger of the two models, the Remora Pro, and found it to be the best of all Hang-On-Tank (HOT) skimmers at that time frame. I say that time only because there were some new brands of HOT skimmers at that time I didn't have any information/feedback on. But I still doubt they could compare efficiency-wise with the Remora units.
Jason again contacted me when his second generation EV's came to market and asked if I was interested in testing them. Of course the answer was 'yes.' I wanted to see what improvements could be made to an already very efficient product! Those are discussed in my 'Product Review' section on this website. I know from many emails that Jason has provided exceptional customer service and his customers are quite satisfied with his products.
