Keeping Jellyfish: Jim Stime

As one of the speakers for MACNA X in Los Angeles in 1998, I met Jim Stime for the first time. He was then president of the Marine Aquarium Society of Los Angeles and was shouldering the responsibilities for that year’s MACNA event. Even though our meetings were quite brief at that time, our relationship did not end there. It continued to flourish because we both had and still have that inner desire to provide what hobbyists need most – someone they can turn to for honest information.

Since then, Jim has developed a variety of thriving aquarium businesses, and the most recent is the successful keeping of Jellyfish! In times past, only public aquariums were able to maintain these creatures. But now, with the line of equipment developed by Jim along with a viable source for these creatures, keeping various jellies in home aquaria has become quite feasible.
