Range: Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to South Africa and Madagascar.

Size: 28 inches (70 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy and rubble areas on reef flats and can be found at depths between 3 to 50 feet (1 – 15 m) where it buries itself during daylight hours and feed at night on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has blotched brownish long thin body. Not purposely collected for the trade.

FYI: Lacks a swim bladder.

Unsuitable for the average home aquarium.
