Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Indonesia, Philippines, north to Southern Japan and Taiwan.

Size: 24 inches (60 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow coastal sandy and muddy areas, including estuaries at depths between 15 to about 100 feet (5 – 30 m) and feeds mainly on smaller fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a whitish tan body with numerous wide black bands. Not collected for the trade.
