Range: Eastern Indian Ocean and Western Pacific: India to Samoa, north to Southern Japan, and south to New South Wales, Australia.

Size: 7 inches (18 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy areas in lagoons and on seaward reefs and usually found partially buried in the substrate at depths between 3 – 30 feet (1 – 10 m) where it feeds upon small crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
