Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Southern Japan and south to Western Australia.

Size: 5 inches (12 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow inshore rocky reefs at depths between 6 to 30 feet (2 - 10 m) where juveniles feed on zooplankton, and adults mainly feed on filamentous algae and somewhat on zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Quite drab, having a brownish black body.

Not collected for the hobby.
