Range: Western Indian Ocean: Southern Red Sea and East Africa south to Natal South Africa.

Size: 4 inches (11 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits inshore and offshore coral reefs at depths between 3 to 150 feet (1 - 45 m) and feeds on zooplankton, benthic invertebrates and algae.

General Husbandry: Juveniles somewhat attractive, having a bluish body with a black eyespot edged in pale blue on the lower rear dorsal. At very early stage, there’s also a black spot on the caudal peduncle. Adults are drab, with a dark greyish body.

Not yet collected for the hobby.
