Range: Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea and Persian Gulf, south to Madagascar and East Africa to Kenya.

Size: 5 inches (12 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits inshore reefs at depths between 3 to 50 feet (1 -15 m) and feeds on zooplankton, benthic invertebrates and algae.

General Husbandry: Quite drab, having a greyish black body with juveniles having a black spot edged in blue on the rear dorsal, which mostly fades as it grows into adulthood.

Not yet collected for the hobby.
