Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Christmas Island and Bali, north to Mariana Islands, and south to New Caledonia.

Size: 3 inches (8 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits steep slopes and rocky bottoms on off-shore reefs at depths between 40 to 130 feet (12 – 40 m) and found in small shoals where it feeds mainly on planktonic crustaceans (copepods, mysis, and shrimp larvae), fish eggs, and algae.

General Husbandry: Quite drab, having a brownish body with some scales highlighted in yellow. Not yet collected for the hobby.

No aquarium husbandry exists for this species.
