Species Name: Centropyge nox

Authority: (Bleeker, 1853)

Common Name: Midnight Angelfish

Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Philippines, Melanesia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, and Japan

Size: 3 inches - 8 cm

Natural Environment: Inhabits coral growths and outer reef slopes at depths from 10 to 100 feet (3 – 30 m)

General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature of 72 - 82°F (22 – 28°C) and natural diet consists mainly of algae. In fact, they need large amounts of plant matter in their diet, yet accepts a wide variety of foods in the aquarium including fortified brine shrimp, mysis, and flake food (especially Spirulina). Needs numerous feeding per day.

Aquarium Suitability: Not a hardy species, and is quite secretive as it requires many hiding places and timid tankmates.
