Species Name: Cheilodipterus quinquelineatus

Authority: Cuvier, 1828

Common Name: Five-lined Cardinalfish

Range: Indo-Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to Mozambique and eastward to the Pitcairn Group, north to southern Japan, south to Lord Howe Island and Rapa

Size: 2 inches - 5 cm

Natural Environment: Inhabits reef flats and lagoons

General Husbandry: Prefer a temperature range of 72 - 82°F (22 - 28°C). Feeds on plankton, small fishes, and benthic invertebrate at night. Will accept a wide variety of meaty foodstuffs and should have vitamin enriched foods with at least two feeding per day. Prefers a dimly lit environment with caves and the only time you may see this species is when its mealtime.
