Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East coast of Africa south to Durban, east to Gulf of Oman, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and south to Queensland.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits coastal mangrove areas, and shipwrecks in deeper water muddy bottoms and usually found at depths between 30 – 100 feet (10 – 30 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a silvery body a black spot on the caudal peduncle. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
