Range: Eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea: Portugal to Morocco and Azores, south to Gulf of Guinea.

Size: 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits muddy or rocky bottoms and caves, and usually found at depths between 30 – 600 feet (10 – 180 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has a pinkish tan body. As of 2016, not yet purposely collected for the trade.
