Stygnobrotula

Stygnobrotula latebricola

Bohlke, 1957

Black Widow

Likely Reef Tank Suitable

Likely Fish-Only Tank Suitable

Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Southern Florida and the Bahamas, south to Curacao.

Size: 3 inches (7 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits reef crevices, coral heads and small caves at depths between 3 - 50 feet (1 - 15 m) and feeds on small fishes and benthic invertebrate.

General Husbandry: Very secretive and very rarely seen in the trade, having a completely black body and fins.
