Range: Western Indian Ocean: Northern Red Sea to the Persian Gulf and also in the Mediterranean Sea.

Size: 5 inches (11 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits seagrass beds and algae covered areas and usually found between depths of 3 – 40 feet (1 – 12 m) where it mainly feeds upon filamentous algae, diatoms, small crustaceans, and somewhat on fish scales and mucus.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
