Range: Western Indian Ocean: East Africa south to Natal South Africa, and also around islands of Western Indian Ocean.

Size: 15 inches (37 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow lagoon reef rich in coral growth and usually found at depths between 3 – 65 feet (1 – 20 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
