Range: Southwest Pacific Ocean: Australia, Lord Howe, Norfolk and Kermadec Islands and also New Zealand.

Size: 80 inches (200 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky bottom areas in coastal reefs and is found at depths between 3 – 200 feet (1 – 60 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Adults have a greyish black body with several dark vertical bands. Not collected for the trade.
