Range: Northwest Pacific Ocean: Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, and South China Sea.

Size: 24 inches (60 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky and sandy bottom areas on coastal reefs and is found at depths between 30 – 150 feet (10 – 45 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Pale tan to grey, with numerous yellow spots on the head, body and fins. Not purposely collected for the trade.

Mainly a food fish in local areas.

Known to be an extremely aggressive species when in captivity.

Has a temperature range of 63 - 75°F (18 – 24°C).

Unsuitable for the home aquarium.
