Barred Sole

Range: Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Gulf of Aqaba and Dahlak Archipelago.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy areas in lagoons and on seaward reefs and usually found partially buried in the substrate at depths between 3 – 30 feet (1 – 10 m) where it feeds upon small crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
