Common Name: Pink & Red Encrusting Sponge

Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Caribbean

Natural Environment: Inhabits cave areas and rubble on reef slopes

General Husbandry: Has a temperature range of 72 to 79°F (22 - 26°C). These encrusting sponges sometimes show up on live rock, yet usually fad away in closed systems.

Taxonomy: Subphylum Cellularia, Class Demospongiae, Subclass Tetractinomorpha, Order: Hadromerida
