Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Bahamas, and the Caribbean south to north Brazil.

Size: 18 inches (45 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow muddy, sandy and seagrass areas and usually seen at depths between 3 - 150 feet (1 - 45 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
