Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Maldives to Eastern India, New Guinea, Northern Australia, New Caledonia, and Palau.

Size: 24 inches (60 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits coastal sandy substrates on reef slopes and seagrass beds and usually seen at depths between 3 - 85 feet (1 - 25 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
