Range: Indian Ocean: Red Sea and Madagascar.

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy substrates on reef terraces and usually seen at depths between 3 - 50 feet (1 - 15 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Neither collected nor suitable for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
