Range: Atlantic Ocean: Chesapeake Bay to the Gulf of Mexico, and Jamaica to the Dominican Republic.
Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow sandy and muddy areas and may carry a sea anemone on its shell.
General Husbandry: Occasionally available in the trade.
Needs a deep sandy substrate where it remains buried during daytime, and basically feeds at night, as it's a nocturnal species.
Needs a meaty diet and will eat sleeping small fishes, nip corals, and also feed on snails, tubeworms and other small inverts.
FYI: Basically white with an irregular pattern of large brownish-red spots.
Probably best left in the wild!
