Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Caribbean to Venezuela

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow waters on fore-reefs and generally seen at depths between 3 to 50 feet (1 - 15 m).

FYI: In the wild, massive encrusting and mounding coral, and usually bright yellow, yet also seen as dull grey-brown and sometimes green. Form/colors depend upon depth where it is found. Deeper water specimens are more flattened, whereas shallow specimens form more mound-like growth.
