Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Southern Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Belize and northern coast of South America.

Natural Environment: Inhabits soft bottom shallow reef environments, including sea grass beds and reef slopes and usually seen at depths between 3 to 50 feet (1 - 15 m).

General Husbandry: Somewhat rare species and not collected for the trade.
