Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Philippines and Palau south to Australia.
Size: 5 inches (12 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky crevices on deep coastal reefs and is usually found between depths of 40 to 100 feet (12 – 30 m) where it feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans.
General Husbandry: Males are thought to have orange on the face, with the remaining body dark brown. Not much else is known about the species, except it attacks divers that get too close to its areas. Not collected for the trade.
