Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Malaysia, Eastern Africa to Japan, and south to Australia.
Natural Environment: Inhabits protected reef slopes where there are sandy substrates and generally seen at depths between 6 to 100 feet (2 - 30 m).

FYI: In the wild, has small colonies with upward branches with irregular shaped corallites and usually brown or green often with green oral discs.
This more common species, both in the wild and in the trade has polyps with a green center surrounded by a brown outer ring, sometimes with white radial lines. The green polyped species seems be much easier than the red polyp species to maintain.
Withstands turbid/poor water quality.
