Range: Indian Ocean: Eastern Coast of Africa, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and southwest and northern Indian Ocean.

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow reef areas and usually seen at depths between 6 to 85 feet (2 - 25 m). Uncommon in the wild.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.
